Learn To Motivate Yourself with Affirmations

Motivation is something that we all have with certain tasks, but it’s not always a given.

The truth is that many of us can have our motivation wane.

When motivation dwindles, it can be difficult to push yourself to do anything much less have the desire to strive for success.

This is so me when it comes to weight loss. I’ll be pumped and going at it with strict discipline, then the scale says something I don’t agree with, and that motivation starts to decline.

Motivation goes hand in hand with achieving success, but you can’t always expect motivation to come from outside sources.

And honestly, you shouldn’t rely on that anyway.

Outside sources, such as a friend who cheers you onward and helps you feel inspired, might not motivate you the next time.

What gave you a burst of incentive one day might not be available the next and that’s why it’s so important that you learn how to encourage yourself.

When you feel motivated, you’ll be able to find the willpower to keep on reaching for your goals.

And when it’s within you, you can tap into a well of enthusiasm that will keep you going regardless of what comes against you.

The key to self motivation is to find affirmations you can use.

Affirmations are also known as mantras, but no matter what you call them, they’re words or phrases that you can repeat to yourself.

Affirmations can help you achieve and maintain a confident outlook.

Your mindset will be focused on the positives, which in turn helps with motivation.

In our subconscious minds, we’re not geared toward the positive. We’re not automatically geared toward success.

Which is a damn shame, but that’s because we’re a product of what’s around us versus what’s in us.

The brain and the body both want the path of least resistance, which is a survival technique. So don’t beat yourself up too bad. 🙂

We walk away from the things we view as mentally or physically difficult or frightening, especially if it makes us feel stressed.

With being an entrepreneur, your subconscious mind is one of your best tools to being successful.

But if your subconscious is fixated on the negative or what hasn’t worked for you in the past, this can be a stumbling block.

Fortunately, your subconscious can be retrained to think differently, to have a success mindset – and the way to do that is with affirmations. By using affirmations, you’ll also feel better emotionally.

I have quite a few affirmations and I repeat them to myself daily, sometimes throughout the day.  I say them when I need a mental pick me up.

If you’ve never used affirmations before, you could start out by using an affirmation that’s specifically geared toward success.

Success affirmations help you to be mindful of the positives in your life every day and it creates a mindset of gratitude.

Affirmations can change your perspective and help keep you motivated.

Affirmations not only strengthen your outlook, but also help you feel stronger and have better self-esteem.

Here are a couple you can use to start.  Do a google search for more positive affirmations or come up with some of your own.

  • I am in control of my life
  • I am investing in myself because I’m worth it
  • I am creating a new reality for my life
  • I live in abundance
  • I am capable for doing anything I put my mind to
  • I am walking in my purpose
  • I am becoming more successful with each new day
  • I am becoming an excellent ______

Affirmations can represent anything you desire to change about yourself or your life.  Saying them feels weird at first.  It might even feel like you’re lying to yourself, but once you start to believe all the things you’re saying to yourself, you’ll become unstoppable!

  • Such an encouraging post, Cynthia! I sometimes get discouraged when I see other people that are so much further ahead on their journey than I am. Maybe they’re making more money or they have a bigger list than I do. In the those moments, I repeat to myself, “Your journey is unfolding exactly as it should be.”

Repeating this affirmation calms me and reminds me to focus on my own journey and not to compare mine to anyone else’s.

    • Avery,

Comparison is such a theft isn’t? We can be going along about our business enjoying our day and feeling good about out successes and before you know it, we come to a halt and being comparing ourselves. I find that keeping busy with growing my business and with all of my daily tasks, I don’t have time to focus on what someone else is doing. I don’t even have the time. 😀

But I totally understand what you’re saying. I love your affirmation! I have a list of them that I repeat everyday. With all of the negativity in the world today it’s important that we reaffirm ourselves and believe in ourselves and what we’re striving for. I can see how much you’ve grown in your business and how you’re starting to move forward with new things.

Be happy for your achievements and know that there’s only one Avery and you’re the only one who can fill her shoes. 😉
